A Day Full of Coincidences… Or Was It Meant to Be?

Today started like any other day—I had my usual yoga session planned. However, I couldn’t secure a spot in my regular class at Mood, so I had to adjust and take a morning session at another studio instead.

And that’s when the story begins…

I met someone new. Someone around my age, an extrovert, and full of energy.

We ended up in the same yoga class. We even took a quick photo together and later found ourselves waiting in line for the changing room at the same time. It seemed like just another casual encounter.

But then, something unexpected happened.

A few hours later, I ran into her again—this time at a supermarket in Alam Sutra. And not just that—we chose to eat at the same restaurant, sitting across from each other. Naturally, we started talking, and soon enough, I realized we had a lot in common: we both love yoga, we both have siblings, and—interesting, her families are filled with civil servants (PNS).

Then, she told me a story that caught me off guard. She shared how she met her husband in the most unexpected way—one that neither of them had ever predicted. To my surprise, her husband is Korean!

At that moment, I immediately started sharing more about myself—how much I love the Korean language and culture, and how it has been a big part of my life for the past 2.5 years. I told her that I’ve been learning the language seriously, trying to improve my skills, and that I’ve even visited the country twice in an effort to immerse myself more. I also shared how I’ve been searching for opportunities to work or study there, hoping to make something happen in Korea one day.

It was such a natural flow of conversation, and the whole thing felt almost too serendipitous.

That moment reminded me of how life works in mysterious ways. Sometimes, we cross paths with people who—without us knowing—will play a role in our journey. Maybe for a brief moment, maybe for a lifetime. But each meeting, each encounter, serves a purpose.

It’s a gentle reminder that no matter how uncertain life may seem, things often fall into place just as they’re meant to.

We are exactly where we need to be.

Since taking my unpaid leave, I’ve met so many new people—people from different backgrounds, different generations, each bringing a unique story of their own. It’s been an eye-opening experience, making me appreciate the randomness of life even more.

Because truthfully, we never really know who we’ll meet next.

And sometimes, a simple, unexpected encounter can become a meaningful part of our journey—one that leads us to a connection we never even imagined.
